Tierion (TNT)
A Global Platform For Verifiable Data.- Tierion features two products: Proof and Chainpoint. While Chainpoint provides a functionality to timestamp documents, Proof is intended to further allow for a verification of the data integrity.
- Chainpoint is a protocol to anchor data - such as audits, licenses, credentials, and other data - in the Bitcoin blockchain by providing timestamp functionality. The Chainpoint network builds on the Bitcoin and Lightning Network and consists out of nodes that use the Tendermint protocol to achieve network consensus.
- Fundamentally, Chainpoint links a hash of to-be-timestamped data to a blockchain and returns a timestamp. Subsequently, a Chainpoint node aggregates hashes in a Merkle tree and publishes the root of the tree in a Bitcoin transaction.
- Chainpoint further features a REST API, a JavaScript library, and a command line interface. This SDK is supposed to enable Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications timestamp data in bulk.
- The Tierion Network Token (TNT) supposedly provides an "economic incentive to secure the network infrastructure and allows to access network resources".
