A Scalable Layer 1 Blockchain based on Move Programming Language.- Aptos is a scalable layer 1 blockchain based on Move programming language.
- APT is the native token of the project. The current use cases for APT include:
- Network Fees: Pay for transaction fees on the network.
- Validator Staking: Participate in DPoS network consensus.
- Governance: Participate in on-chain community governance.
- The project consists of the following major components working in conjunction:
- Move: Aptos uses Move, a new smart contract programming language that focuses on safety and flexibility. It was originally developed at Meta to power the Diem blockchain.
- Parallel Processing Execution: Aptos utilizes the parallel data model & execution engine to improve execution efficiency.
- AptosBFT Consensus: Aptos utilizes a variant of Byzantine fault tolerance consensus mechanism to achieve higher efficiency.
- As at October 19th 2022, the total token supply of APT is 1,000,000,000. The current circulating supply is 130,000,000 (~13.00% of total supply).
